Upcoming Events: The Moody Chorale
On March 7th, 6:30pm, we look forward to welcoming The Moody Chorale, the student choir of Moody Bible Institute. Attend at the Auditorium, 58 Winchester Road, Northfield MA 01360. There is no admission fee, but donations will be accepted.
Founded in 1946 at Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, the Moody Chorale serves churches around the world through the ministry of sacred music. Enjoy the Chorale’s broad repertoire of music from various cultures, styles, and time periods. The Chorale tours throughout the United States every year and also tours internationally—the 2018 summer tour will be in Poland. For a complete list of concerts or to purchase recordings, please visit moody.edu/concerts.
“We consider it an honor to be hosted by local churches wherever we go and to present our Christian faith and Moody Bible Institute through the music we perform,” said Dr. Xiangtang Hong, associate professor of music and director of the Moody Chorale.
Dr. Hong, who joined Moody’s faculty in 2006, graduated with a bachelor’s degree in sacred music from East Carolina University and a master’s in choral conducting from Westminster Choir College. She also holds a doctorate in choral conducting from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Dr. Hong enjoys sharing her love for music and conducting as a choral clinician, adjudicator, and guest conductor, but her greatest joy is in being a mentor to her students.
This will be a special night to see how D.L. Moody’s legacy still continues as students of his school fill up his auditorium with beautiful music and worship. Come enjoy this performance from one of the leading collegiate choral organizations in America!
